Today marked day two of work on my CB400f cafe racer project. While on day one I had quite a few hours to work today I only had just over one hour.
I started the day installing one of the best performance enhancing pieces on a motorcycle - valve caps thanks to David Silver Spares.
Up next was adjusting the valve clearances to ensure a .005mm gap. Turning the engine over until cylinder #1 was TDC it was time to adjust clearances on #1 intake and exhaust, #2 exhaust, #3 intake. Rotating the crankshaft 360* so cylinder #4 is at TDC and then adjusting intake and exhaust for #4, #3 exhaust and #2 intake.
Scrapping the old points system for an electronic which I began installing until running out of time.
All work is taking place at Piston & Chain in San Francisco. www.pistonandchain.com
I want to get back to tinkering.
